Talk about a blast from the past, Richard Childress announced via social media on Thursday that Jack Daniel’s will sponsor Austin Dillon’s No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for next weekend’s Bank of America 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

The latest edition of the Jack Daniel’s race car is a thing of beauty.

The Whiskey brand sponsored a car at RCR from 2005 to 2009. Dave Blaney, Clint Bowyer and Casey Mears drove the iconic car, and Bowyer famously finished the 2007 Daytona 500 on his roof in the No. 07 Jack Daniel’s car.

Austin Dillon came into 2019 on a three-season streak of making it into the NASCAR Playoffs. His bid for a fourth-consecutive Playoffs appearance didn’t come to fruition, but he has recorded four top-10 finishes and three poles this season. Now, he could play the spoiler and take a win away from those currently in Playoffs contention.

And how cool would it be to see this all-black No. 3 car make it to victory lane?
