Fellow NASCAR Cup Series drivers might have to look twice in their mirrors when they’re speeding down the drag-strip straightaways of the Martinsville Speedway.

Josh Bilicki, and sponsor Insurance King will honor fallen police officers with a special, one of a kind scheme that will hit the track on Sunday, November 1st for the Xfinity 500.

The scheme was designed by Orion Biedrzycki, a designer based outside of Atlanta, Georgia. While not his first scheme he ever put on track, he looked back to NASCAR’s roots for inspiration behind the design.

“Insurance King initially approached me about doing this design for Halloween weekend, and it has a dual meaning,” he told TobyChristie.com. “The more light-hearted version of the story – Insurance King wanted to “dress up” the car as if it were wearing a costume for Halloween. They asked for a Police car-themed design, which ties the design back to the roots of NASCAR when moonshiners would race to outrun the police. The other side of the story is one that it extremely powerful. Insurance King began a partnership earlier this season with The Wounded Blue and they wanted to honor our fallen officers with this special design.”

The hood of the car is where the true meaning of the scheme is found.

“On the hood of the car, there are stars – each represent a officer who gave their life on the job this year, he said. “Sadly, there are over 200 stars on this car.”
