Ross Chastain took a much-needed win in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway as he topped William Byron by 0.388 seconds in a late-race battle for the win.

Following the watermelon-smashing win for the driver of the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet, NASCAR put the Kubota Tractor machine through the rigors of post-race inspection. After undergoing inspection, the race-winning car was given a passing grade. As a result, NASCAR declared Chastain and his team the official winners of the race.

This win marks the first victory of the year for Chastain, and it is the Florida native’s fifth career victory.

There were no issues in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Sunday’s race are now considered official. NASCAR will take Harrison Burton’s No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse and John Hunter Nemechek’s No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota Camry XSE back to the R&D center for further inspection.

William Byron was the official runner-up finisher while Martin Truex Jr., Ryan Blaney, and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top-five finishers.
