Freddie Kraft, who has served as Bubba Wallace’s spotter for a decade, revealed on Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing loss of taste and smell as a result.

Kraft says aside from the loss of his ability to taste and smell, he is feeling well despite contracting the virus.

Kraft is the latest in a long line of notable names in NASCAR who have contracted COVID-19 in 2020. Jimmie Johnson and Austin Dillon each missed a NASCAR Cup Series event with the virus. Spencer Davis’ Truck Series campaign was derailed by a positive test. William Byron’s entire No. 24 pit crew missed action due to the virus, and even NASCAR Hall of Famers Dale Jarrett and Red Farmer fought bouts with the virus this season.

Hopefully Kraft’s symptoms continue to be mild.

Kraft announced back in November that he would join Wallace for an 11th season together in 2021 as the duo will move to the new 23XI Racing team which is owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.
