NASCAR Cup Series winner Denny Hamlin and his fianceé Jordan Fish have officially announced the birth of their third child together, Jameson Drew Hamlin.
The couple made the announcement on Thursday (June 19) via Instagram, with a post that reads: “The road to meeting him wasn’t easy… but he’s home, he’s perfect, and his sisters can’t get enough of him. Our hearts have never been so full.”
Hamlin and Fish have two older children together, daughters Taylor James (12) and Molly Gold (7).
Hamlin is a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series, piloting the No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE for Joe Gibbs Racing. Last week, the 44-year-old driver elected to forgo a trip to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico, to be with his fianceé and newborn son.
Ryan Truex, the designated reserve driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, piloted the No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE at the 2.42-mile road course last weekend, coming home with a 23rd-place result after an afternoon that included several incidents
In the meantime, Hamlin has been approved for a waiver to remain eligible for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. NASCAR, in a rule update over the off-season, has determined that absence for the birth of a child is an acceptable reason to receive a waiver (without losing all playoff points).
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is set to return to competition this weekend at Pocono Raceway, as the NASCAR Cup Series contests The Great American Getaway 400.
Coverage of the event will be at 2:00 PM ET on Prime Video, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
