Daniel Dye, who returned to stock car racing this past weekend with a runner-up finish in the ARCA Menards Series Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway, is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend in the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Dye will pilot the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports, and will contest a total of four NASCAR Cup Series events with the team this season. Dye will carry primary sponsorship from Champion Container, a company owned by his father.
Live Fast Motorsports revealed the partnership with Dye via a social media post and video on Monday morning.

In addition to the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega, Dye will also compete in the events at Pocono Raceway on June 14, Daytona International Speedway on August 29, and Talladega Superspeedway on October 25.
Dye started the 2026 season as one of the full-time drivers for the Kaulig Racing Ram Truck program in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, but resigned from his driving duties following a NASCAR and team-mandated suspension for homophobic comments aimed at NTT IndyCar Series driver David Malukas during a live stream on the streaming platform, Whatnot.
After completing sensitivity training and a subsequent reinstatement by NASCAR, Dye stepped down from his role as the driver of the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Ram 1500. Corey LaJoie took over the driving duties of the No. 10 truck for Kaulig.
Following his runner-up finish in the ARCA event at Kansas this past weekend, Dye called the slip-up in character and suspension that followed the best thing for him to refocus as a race car driver.
“Me being an idiot was probably the best thing for me to get my head back on my shoulders, and focus on what is truly important to me, and that’s being behind the wheel of a race car,” Dye said.
Dye has 97 career NASCAR National Series starts combined between the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (48 starts), and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (49 starts). Dye has 10 top-10 finishes in each series, and has two career top-five finishes in Truck Series competition.
