Corey LaJoie may very well win the award for prettiest paint scheme this weekend in Martinsville but in opening Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Martinsville Speedway, LaJoie’s car got wadded up after running 22 laps.

LaJoie’s CorvetteParts.net Ford Mustang was going down the straightaway when the brake pedal went to the floor. All LaJoie could do at that point was hang on for the ride. His No. 32 machine slammed into the outside wall, which absolutely obliterated the right front body and chassis of his race car.

LaJoie and the Go Fas Racing team will pull out their backup car to continue preparing for Sunday’s STP 500.

UPDATE: As the team was tuning their backup car to be ready for on-track action, LaJoie personally got underneath the car and helped with getting the backup car ready to race. That’s some pretty awesome dedication from the driver of the No. 32 car.

UPDATE: Here is what Corey LaJoie had to say about the crash – “That just sucks because we were making it really good. I think we were 20th at the time, but I’ll tell you there is no coffee strong enough that will wake you up like losing brakes into turn one at Martinsville. It’s not a good feeling losing brakes. It had like a half-pedal and then it felt like it blew through the seal or something. It’s unfortunate because small teams like ours we don’t really bring a backup that’s fully ready to go, so my guys have a lot of work ahead of them. I’ll probably pitch in and help a little bit, but, obviously, our backup is not gonna be as good as the car that we choose and bring as our primary. I hate it for CorvetteParts.com and everybody at GoFAS. They brought a really good primary car and hopefully they can work on the backup car and make it just as good.”
