While Chase Elliott’s primary sponsorship partner for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway was listed as “TBA” in the preliminary entry list revealed by NASCAR on Monday, Hendrick Motorsports has announced Coca-Cola will serve as the primary backer for Elliott in this weekend’s race.

The iconic soft drink company will bring its legendary red to the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro along with white accents. Slim Chickens, a fast-casual restaurant chain, will also have its logo displayed on the rear quarter-panels of Elliott’s car this weekend. Hendrick Motorsports showed off the paint scheme in a video shared to social media on Tuesday morning.

This race at Richmond Raceway was originally scheduled to be the third and final race of primary sponsorship for Hooters, but Hendrick Motorsports terminated its contract with the restaurant chain in early July after Hooters was not, “able to meet its business obligations,” to the race team.

Coca-Cola joined Hendrick Motorsports as the official beverage partner of Chase Elliott and the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team heading into the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion, who was once backed by Pepsico’s Mountain Dew brand, has been a part of the Coca-Cola Racing Family for the past two seasons.

Elliott, like Coca-Cola, hails from Georgia.

The addition of Coca-Cola as Elliott’s primary sponsorship partner for this weekend’s race will once again signal that Elliott has a full slate of primary sponsorship this season.
