Bubba Wallace has been making headlines for things off the track as well as his improved on-track performance this season with Richard Petty Motorsports. Apparently, the NASCAR fan-base is in Wallace’s corner as he leads the fan vote for the 2020 NASCAR All-Star Race with just over a week until the event.

NASCAR released the top-10 drivers in fan voting on Tuesday.

While we aren’t given the totals that Wallace leads by, we do know that Clint Bowyer is currently second in the voting followed by Matt DiBenedetto, William Byron and Corey LaJoie.

Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, Timmy Hill, Aric Almirola and Austin Dillon round out the top-10 in fan voting.

The NASCAR All-Star Race, which is scheduled for July 15th, will be run at Bristol Motor Speedway this season, just the second time the iconic exhibition event has ever not been run at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR All-Star Open race grants three drivers not already in the All-Star race entry into the event (Stage 1 winner, Stage 2 winner and overall race winner). The highest remaining fan vote driver, not already qualified into the All-Star race, then is added to the field as well.

Wallace, 25, sits 19th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings after 16 races. He has scored three top-10 finishes this season including a ninth-place effort in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis.

The Alabama-native made it into the 2019 NASCAR All-Star event after winning Stage 2 of the All-Star Open race. Wallace would go on to record an impressive fifth-place finish in the 2019 All-Star Race.
