Branden Lines, a veteran spotter, who spent the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season as the spotter for Ryan Preece and the No. 37 JTG Daugherty Racing team, will move to Hendrick Motorsports for 2022 and will spot for William Byron and the No. 24 team.

Hendrick Motorsports has since confirmed the addition of Lines to their spotter roster to TobyChristie.com.

For Lines this is a drastic shift upward in his career as he will move from a team that finished 27th in the overall championship standings with one top-five and four top-10 finishes overall, to a team that scored a win at Homestead-Miami Speedway, finished 10th in the championship standings and scored 12 top-fives and 20 top-10s this past season.

Tab Boyd, who has served as the spotter for William Byron in the NASCAR Cup Series since his rookie season in 2018, will move to JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47 for the 2022 season.

Byron, who has scored a victory in each of the last two NCS seasons, became a more consistent figure inside the top-five and top-10 this year and will look to emerge as a legitimate championship threat next year.
