Long-time NASCAR journalist veteran Kenny Bruce had a fantastic breakdown of Brad Keselowski’s incredible Martinsville performance at his website (kennybruce.net) this week.

The most staggering statistic in the piece was that Keselowski’s 446 laps led marked just the 12th time in 141 previous Martinsville Cup Series races where a driver led over 400 laps. Keselowski’s 446 laps rank him fifth on the all-time list for laps led in a race at Martinsville.

The all-time laps led in a single Martinsville race record at the track belongs to Fred Lorenzen who led an astonishing 493 of the 500 laps in the 1964 fall race at the paper clip.

Although this was my biggest takeaway from Bruce’s article, there are plenty of great nuggets in it as well. It is well worth the time to read the full story. To read the full Martinsville Postscript from Kenny Bruce, click here.
