Austin Theriault Not Medically Cleared For Kansas, Smithley to Step in

Following a crash in Monday’s 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Austin Theriault has not been medically cleared to compete in this weekend’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Theriault shared the news on Twitter, Thursday.

The 25-year old driver was slated to compete for Rick Ware Racing this weekend.

Garrett Smithley will step into Theriault’s car while the Maine native continues to heal.

Theriault has a best finish of 32nd which came at Michigan and Richmond. Theriault has made five starts for Rick Ware Racing in 2019.
