Andy Houston to Spot for Noah Gragson in Stewart-Haas Racing No. 10

Andy Houston, a veteran spotter across NASCAR’s top-three series, will have a slightly different view from atop the spotter’s stand next season, announcing on Wednesday that he’ll be working with Noah Gragson at Stewart-Haas Racing in 2024.

The 53-year-old spotter has been working with Stewart-Haas Racing since 2020, serving as the spotter of the No. 41 Ford Mustang with drivers Cole Custer and Ryan Preece for the last four seasons.

Before joining Stewart-Haas Racing, Houston spent many years at Richard Childress Racing, where he worked with Austin Dillon as he climbed through the Xfinity Series ranks and into the Cup Series. Houston stayed as the spotter of the No. 3 until 2019.

Working with Ryan Preece in 2023, Houston recorded a single top-five finish as a spotter at Richmond Raceway, as well as a second top-10 at Talladega Superspeedway in October, with an eighth-place run.

Gragson — who was suspended in August 2023 after liking a racially insensitive post on Instagram — was announced Wednesday as the new full-time driver of the No. 10 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Houston’s move for the 2024 season, albeit within the same organization, is another domino in what has already been a crazy off-season for the spotter market, with Josh Berry, Chase Elliott, Noah Gragson, Ryan Preece, and Ryan Blaney, among others, being left to have new spotters for next season.

In 2023, Houston also served as a spotter for Cole Custer and Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, as well as Hailie Deegan and ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
