Defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Corey Heim will compete in an expanded NASCAR Cup Series schedule with 23XI Racing in 2026, the team announced on Friday.

Heim will once again get behind the wheel of the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE, a fourth entry for the 23XI Racing organization, in a total of 12 events throughout the season, beginning with the season-opening DAYTONA 500.

The Marietta, Georgia-native was named the first-ever development driver for the high-profile organization – co-owned by future NASCAR Hall of Famer Denny Hamlin and NBA superstar Michael Jordan — at the start of last season.

“We know the future is really bright for Corey [Heim], and we’re working with him to ensure that he is as prepared as possible when his time comes to race full time,” said Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing. “We’re continuing to stick to our plan and taking a long-term approach, while also remaining focused on what is collectively best for our organization and our partners as we look to continue being a competitive, winning organization each weekend.”

Now, in the second year of his development contract with the multi-car team, Heim will take a methodical approach to his development, factoring in competition across various track types, partner interests, and an expanded schedule from last season.

When Heim is not behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup Series entry, he will continue to be a regular participant in all aspects of the competition team as they prepare for and analyze races.

Following his first attempt at qualifying for the DAYTONA 500, Heim will return to NASCAR Cup Series competition at Kansas Speedway (April 19), Texas Motor Speedway (May 3), Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 24), Nashville Superspeedway (May 31), Naval Base Coronado (June 21), Chicagoland Speedway (July 5), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 26), Daytona International Speedway (August 29), Darlington Raceway (September 6), Charlotte Motor Speedway (October 11), and Homestead-Miami Speedway (November 8).

“Corey’s development with the team has been impressive, and we appreciate his patience and trust in us to prepare him as best as possible,” said Dave Rogers, Senior Director of Competition for 23XI Racing. “He has not only been a great student but has also provided valuable feedback to our team that has helped us grow. We’re looking forward to more races with him this year as he continues to sharpen his skills.”

Veteran crew chief Bootie Barker, who has served as shot-caller for Heim’s previous starts in the NASCAR Cup Series, will continue to call the shots from atop the pit box in 2026.

“I’m excited and honored to continue my progression with 23XI,” said Corey Heim. “Every driver wants to race as much as possible, but I’m fully committed to the approach that I am taking with the team. I look forward to more Cup races this year and the opportunity to grow and expand my racecraft on and off the track.”

In addition to his limited schedule in the NASCAR Cup Series, Heim will also be running part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for TRICON Garage, beginning at EchoPark Speedway. As the season progresses, 23XI Racing will continue to seek opportunities for Heim to run additional events.
