After spending the last two seasons competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Colby Howard will start his 2024 campaign with the second race of the season, joining forces with TRICON Garage for the February 24 event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Simpsonville, South Carolina-native will get behind the wheel of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro at the 1.5-mile superspeedway-like facility. Project Hope Foundation, a long-time sponsor of Howard, will serve as the primary marketing partner for the event.

“I’m incredibly excited to be working with TRICON and the No. 1 team at Atlanta,” said Howard. “This is a massive opportunity for me at this point in my career and I’m looking forward to going out and making the most of it. Atlanta’s new configuration can be tricky, but I’m ready for the challenge and to prove I belong.”

At 22 years old, Howard’s NASCAR National Series career consists of 94 starts between the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, in which he was able to record a career-best fourth-place result in the Truck Series season-opener last season, driving for CR7 Motorsports.

Howard will be behind the wheel of a fifth entry or TRICON Garage at Atlanta, serving as a teammate to Dean Thompson, Corey Heim, Tanner Gray, and Taylor Gray, all four of whom are slated to contest the entire 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule.

As far as the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Howard is the third pilot to be announced for the entry in 2024, joining Toni Breidinger (Daytona), and William Sawalich, who will contest a nine-race short track program in the entry throughout the year.

Though, upon traveling to Hampton, Georgia next weekend, Howard will look to become just the second driver to score a victory under the TRICON Garage banner, something that only Corey Heim, the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series regular-season champion, has been able to accomplish thus far.
