Scary news for 18-year-old driver Christian Eckes, as he has been hospitalized due to a small esophageal tear which occurred during a bout of food poisoning.

The ailment forced Eckes to sit out of the ARCA race at Salem the other day, but the young driver who has driven NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races for Kyle Busch Motorsports is expected to make a full recovery.

According to a release from Venturini Motorsports, who Eckes drives for in ARCA, Eckes became very ill after on-track activity on Saturday.
