There’s always something special about racing in the state of Indiana, and the ARCA Menards Series gets their first chance of the season to do that this Friday, as they head to the famed Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for the Circle City 200.

This week’s race is a special one, not only will this be a combination race for the ARCA Menards Series and the ARCA Menards Series East, but this also marks the 600th race in the series history. Set to run for the 200 laps is a field stacked with a lot of good names.

Heading into the weekend, ARCA Menards Series East points leader Connor Zilisch is looking to get his fourth win on the year in the East. He’s been a dominate car all year long, and last time out he shared some contact with fellow driver William Sawalich who’s looking to close that now 17-point difference.

Looking to the ARCA Menards National platform, Andres Perez looks to grow his championship lead over fellow competitor Greg Van Alst. The Mexico City native now has 40 points over the Anderson, IN driver.

Van Alst, who just announced his return to Xfinity Series racing, is also brining along a second car for Martinsville, IN native Isaac Johnson to drive. Johnson made his series debut here last year driving for CW Motorsports.

Perez is still looking for that elusive first win in ARCA and hopes to get it done at IRP.

Fast Track Racing has a few special stories heading into the race. Jayson Alexander returns to pilot the No. 10 machine. He made his debut back at the Nashville Fairgrounds in the East Series and looks to rebound after a tough day in Charlotte back in May.

Joining him under the Fast Track banner includes a couple of hometown kids. Presley Sorah is taking the wheel of the No. 12 Toyota and joining him atop the spotter’s stand is long-time friend Gavin Newton. Both are hopping for good days in their backyard.

Also joining them is fan favorite Zachary Tinkle in the No. 11 as he continues his East Series season.

Other notables looking to take on the short track include the VMS stables of Gio Ruggiero, Kris Wright, Amber Balcaen, Toni Breidinger, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Driver Dean Thompson who is pulling double duty that night. Marco Andretti, Christian Rose, Cody Dennison, Lavar Scott, and D.L. Wilson also make up the entry list.

You can catch the Circle City 200 live on FS1 at 5:30 PM EST on Friday, July 19th.
