From one road course to another, the ARCA Menards Series West heads down the west coast from Portland International Raceway to Sonoma Raceway for the General Tire 200.

Since 1969, the ARCA Menards Series West has visited the 1.99-mile road course once a year, with Ray Elder winning the inaugural event at the famed facility.

Former winners for the West Series include a stacked list of NASCAR history including Rusty Wallace, Davey Allison, Dale Earnhardt, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, and Chase Elliott, among several others.

Jake Drew, the defending champion of the ARCA Menards Series West is the most recent winner at the 11-turn road course, driving to victory for Sunrise Ford Racing in 2022.

Ripping the Road Course: Looking To This Weekend

After finally breaking through from four second-place finishes, points leader Landen Lewis took home the win last weekend at Portland. He and the No. 17 teams are hoping to continue that momentum and go back-to-back.

The 17-year-old will have to work hard for his win as the field is once again stacked with stout competition.

Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Cole Custer and Riley Herbst return to the series after making their first starts of the year at Portland. Custer will pilot the No. 55 for High Point Racing, while Herbst returns to the No. 5 for Jerry Pitts Racing.

Joining his Xfinity Series teammates is Ryan Preece, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing. He’ll pilot the No. 9 Bonanza Cabernet Ford entered by Gene Haas.

Also joining the action is former ARCA Menards Series East champion, Sammy Smith, who will drive the No. 81 Toyota for Hattori Racing Enterprises.

Other notable drivers include Parker Retzlaff, returning to Young’s Motorsports for the second straight week, as well as Jack Wood who will drive the No. 6 for Rev Racing.

Sean Hingorani who is looking to regain some momentum after a tough finish last weekend, and Dale Quarterley who capitalized on a crazy race last time out to take home third. Bradley Erickson, Kyle Keller, Todd Souza, Tyler Reif, Tanner Reif, and others.
