Reif Doubles Down, Sneaks Win Away At Tri-City Raceway

It was back-to-back for Tyler Reif and the Central Coast Racing team as he took home the trophy at Tri-City Raceway in the NAPA Auto Parts 150.

Reif was able to sneak the win away from second place in points Sean Hingorani after a late race restart with 18 laps to go after the No. 6 machine of Jess Haven’s spun.

“The laps were counting down faster, and faster and faster. The no cautions were surprising me for the first 75. We knew what we had to do the last 75. Practiced the outside a little bit this weekend and it definitely paid off again,” the Henderson, NV native said post-race.

“It’s definitely the most tiring race track I’ve been to but one of the most fun,” he added.

This marks his second win of the season and third in his career. While it was jubilation for him and the team, it was a tough break for Hingorani.

“I wanted more for sure. Felt like we were really good all night. Thanks to the Jerry Pitts Racing guys..Great crowd tonight. Wish we had a little more at the end. I’m not sure what happened…It was very odd to get drove around the top,” the Newport Beach, CA native said after his run.

The second-place effort has left him seven points back of Reif in the ARCA Menard Series West driver’s championship.

Jack Wood came home third, earning his third top-five finish on the season and getting some momentum back to him and his McAnally 16 team.

Reif’s team owner Todd Souza managed fourth, his first top-five of the season, and Kyle Keller rounded out the top five.

In his triumphant return to Tri-City, it was a bit of a disappointment for former track champion Greg Biffle. After a spin with 35 laps to go, he was able to rebound but came home ninth on the night.

Up next, the ARCA Menards Series West heads to Madera Speedway and the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 on September 28th at 11 PM EST on FloRacing.
