Oh. My. Goodness. That’s not what any team owner likes to see. On the final lap of Friday’s ARCA Menards Series Zinsser Smartcoat 150 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Venturini Motorsports teammates Sean Hingorani and Dean Thompson got together, which resulted in both drivers spinning out.
Thompson, who was heading toward a runner-up finish, wound up in the sand pit instead.
Here is a video of the last-lap incident between the two Venturini Motorsports drivers:
Here it is again, one of the most unfathomable things I’ve seen in racing. A teammate wipes his other teammate out of second on the final lap. On purpose. #ARCA pic.twitter.com/G0mWcvsiXz

While it was a nightmare finish for Venturini Motorsports, it was no accident. Hingorani exacted revenge on Thompson following an incident with Thompson while the two were battling for the race lead with eight laps remaining in the race.
With eight laps to go, after the two made contact several times, Thompson forced Hingorani wide on the exit of Turn 13. This caused Hingorani to skid into the grass, and the driver of the No. 15 car spun out of contention.
Here is the initial incident, which led to Hingorani’s retaliatory incident on the final lap:

While the Venturini Motorsports teammates ruined any chances they had at contending for the win, Tyler Ankrum, who got sent into the sand trap earlier in the race, would go on to win the race.
