Jacob Smith, a native of Eagle, Idaho, will continue his conquest for the Madera Speedway Lunkerdaddy Pro Late Model championship, while also returning to the ARCA Menards Series West for an expanded schedule with Jerry Pitts Racing.

Smith will return to the series beginning at Sonoma (June 9), before contesting events at Irwindale (July 1), LVMS Bullring (October 13), and Madera Speedway (October 21).

Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Bullring served as the site of Smith’s debut in the ARCA Menards Series West last season, where he ran inside the top 10 throughout the entire event, coming home ninth-place out of a stacked 26-car field.

Charlie Wilson, team owner of Smith’s Pro Late Model, will serve as crew chief of Smith’s ARCA West effort.

“Our goal this year is to win the championship at Madera,” Smith said. “Our mindset is focused on winning races in 2023. We showed in 2022 that we are consistent and competitive, and I am excited to build upon that this year.”

When visiting Sonoma Raceway, Smith will lean on his karting background from Sonoma Raceway’s kart track, located in the hills above the road course, which hosted Smith’s pair of IKF Grand National Championship victories. Seven years later, he’ll take to the 1.99-mile road course.
