Romain Grosjean’s debut run in the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 came to an abrupt and early end.

During a pit stop sequence just past the halfway point of the 200-lap race, the 36-year-old Swiss-born Frenchman became the third driver to have a solo crash in Turn 2. Piloting the No. 28 Andretti Autosport Honda, he went through the corner when he spun and pounded the outside wall on Lap 105.

Grosjean will be credited with a 31st-place finish.
