Jack Harvey started an early Saturday off on the wrong foot after crashing in second practice for the NTT IndyCar Series season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Roughly 15 minutes into the session, Harvey clipped the right side of his No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda at the apex of Turn 9, which caused him to make contact with the left-front upon the corner exit. The incident brought out the first red flag of the session, which lasted around five minutes.
