The second day of practice for the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 has been cancelled after continuous rain dampened Wednesday’s on-track activities.

The weather hit ahead of practice that was scheduled to start at 12 p.m. ET, with no cars ever hitting the track despite a select few rolling on pit road with aspirations of running. Despite a consistent effort to wait out a potential window, rain continued to be the theme until IndyCar officials called it near 3:30 p.m.

Thursday is expected to be more suitable with a less than 10 percent chance of rain and a high of 85F in partly cloudy conditions; on-track action is scheduled to run 12-6 p.m.
