Video: Gio Scelzi Takes First ARCA West Victory at All American Speedway in a FANTASTIC Finish

Gio Scelzi and Tanner Gray battle for the victory coming to the white flag at All American Speedway.

Gio Scelzi claimed his first career ARCA Menards Series West victory Friday Night at All American Speedway, making a late-race pass on DGR-Crosley’s Taylor Gray, who led the majority of the event.

Scelzi made an aggressive inside move on Taylor Gray with his No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota Camry coming to the white flag and would exit turn two with a monumental lead after contact between the two young drivers cut a tire down on Gray’s No. 17 Ford Fusion.

“He bobbled there, and I just kind of slammed through the door,” said Scelzi of his move on Taylor Gray. “I haven’t been aggressive enough in these races, and I finally got one done there.”

Todd Souza snuck by for a season-best second-place finish, with Trevor Huddleston, Jesse Love and Blaine Perkins rounding out the top-five finishers.

Taylor Gray – who lead a devastatingly large portion of the race — finished eighth-place for DGR-Crosley Racing.

The series heads to Kern County on Sunday Night for the penultimate event of the 2020 ARCA Menards Series West season.
