Riley Herbst Outduels Bret Holmes, Claims Second Career ARCA Menards Series Victory at Michigan.

Riley Herbst held off a hungry Bret Holmes to claim his second career ARCA Menards Series victory Sunday Afternoon at Michigan International Speedway.

Herbst – who led the race for 39 of 100 laps — outdueled the No. 23 of Bret Holmes on the final restart of the event, claiming his first victory of the season and the fourth for Joe Gibbs Racing this season in the ARCA Menards Series.

Bret Holmes’ No. 23 was the dominant car of the event, leading a race-high 61 laps, before being unable to rally around Riley Herbst in the final laps of the VizCom 200.

Venturini Motorsports’ Michael Self finished in the third-position and as a result, continues to hold the championship lead by four points over Bret Holmes, while Hailie Deegan and Drew Dollar, the other two championship contenders finished fourth and sixth respectively.

Anthony Alfredo posted a strong performance in his return to DGR-Crosley Racing, as well as his return to the ARCA Menards Series, finishing inside the top-five in fifth.

Ryan Repko (7th), Jason Kitzmiller (8th), Thad Moffitt (9th) and Armani Williams (10th) rounded out Sunday’s top-ten finishers at Michigan.

Kris Wright – who will make his debut in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series next Sunday at Daytona’s Road Course — brought his GMS Racing No. 21 home 14th, after being involved in a single-car accident on lap 52.
