Kris Wright Joins GMS Racing for ARCA Event at Michigan, Truck Series Event at Daytona

Up-and-coming American racer Kris Wright, will join GMS Racing in two events this season, across the team’s ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series efforts, the team announced on Monday.

The 26-year-old, Wright, will make his debut for the organization when the ARCA Menards Series contests their annual event at Michigan International Speedway on August 8th. Wright will pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet, the same car that has won the last two ARCA Menards Series events with Sam Mayer.

The following weekend, Wright will make his NASCAR National Series debut when the NASCAR Truck Series runs their first ever race on Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado in the historic event.

Wright does have some prior experience on Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course, finishing seventh overall in the 2019 Rolex 24 and runner-up in the LMP2 class.

Additionally, Wright made his first two starts in the ARCA Menards Series West this season, driving the No. 7 for Pitts Racing in the double header in Utah, finishing a respectable second and third in the two events.
