Fast Track Racing Enterprises had a solid outing a few weeks back at the Daytona preseason test for the ARCA Menards Series, and now less than a month away from the season opener they are set to bring on a newcomer to the series in Michael Maples.

Maples joins Fast Track for a full-time effort in both the ARCA Menards Series and the ARCA Menard Series East, piloting the No. 99. The team announced the cars he will drive are cars from the former Burgess Racing Team and two cars from the Veer Motorsports stable that use to be partnered with Jon T. Garrett.

Also coming over from Garrett’s team is crew chief Mike Sroufe for the 23 race schedule.

The 60-year-old joins the series with experience in IMCA modifieds since 2019 and had late-model asphalt experience before in California.

“When I moved back to Oklahoma, I wanted to race either ASA or ARCA. I’ve always liked the ARCA series. Some people from Texas raced ARCA. I always thought it seemed like a good series to travel,” the Choctaw, Oklahoma native said. Maples met with Fast Track Racing and team owner Andy Hillenburg in 2023 in Kansas and connected.

Maples also joins fellow ARCA Menards Series driver Ryan Roulette as part of the team’s fleet of drivers for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Partnering with the No. 99 team is Maples’ employer, Don Ray Petroleum, along with a few other partners throughout the 2024 season.

Fast Track Racing is coming off a strong 2023 season where two drivers came home in the top ten in points for the ARCA Menards Series, and fellow driver Zachary Tinkle’s top five points finish in the ARCA Menards Series East.

You can catch the ARCA Menards Series debut at the Daytona International Speedway live on Fox Sports 1 on February 17th at 1:30 PM/
