Dueling In The Desert: Previewing The ARCA Menards Series/ARCA West at Phoenix

The ARCA Menards Series ventures to the West Coast to team up with the ARCA Menards Series West for the second round of the season at Phoenix Raceway on March 7 for the running of the General Tire 150.

The race will consist of 150 laps around a one-mile dogleg oval, totaling 150 miles, to determine the winner of the 2025 General Tire 150.

The starting lineup for Friday’s race will include 32 starters, with provisional entries for a total of 34 entries. Given the number of entries, several notable drivers are present in the field.

Defending race winners in their respective series, Brenden Queen, who won the ARCA Menards Series Ride The ‘Dente 200 at Daytona International Speedway, and Trevor Huddleston, the winner of the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 in the ARCA West Series event at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Raceway, are prepared to face off and make an impact on Friday evening. Both drivers currently lead the points standings in their series.

As of Friday’s contest, Queen is leading the ARCA Menards Series points, holding a four-point advantage over William Sawalich. Jason Kitzmiller ranks third in the series standings, while 2024 championship runner-up Lavar Scott is in fourth place.

Huddleston currently leads the ARCA Menards Series West championship, holding a six-point advantage over Kyle Keller. Tanner Reif is in third place in the series standings, followed by Robbie Kennealy in fourth. Eric Johnson Jr., the defending ARCA West Rookie of the Year, rounds out the top five in the standings.

Sixteen-year-old NASCAR prospect Brent Crews is set to drive the No. 18 Toyota Camry for his first of seven ARCA races with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025. In February, the No. 18 recently finished runner-up at Daytona with NASCAR Xfinity Series rookie William Sawalich.

Tyler Reif, who won the race in 2023 as a 15-year-old, will drive the No. 23 Sigma Performance Services Chevrolet in the event.

Venturini Motorsports brings a unique duo to Phoenix alongside their two full-time entries of Lawless Alan (No.20) and ARCA rookie contender Isabella Robusto (No.55).

Patrick Staropoli, a retina surgeon, is back in the Venturini Motorsports No.25 Toyota Camry after a decade-long hiatus away from ARCA competition.

The long-awaited debut of NASCAR Canada Series standout Treyten Lapcevich has come full circle as he will pilot the No. 15 Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship No. 15 Toyota Camry.

Hendrick Motorsports development driver Corey Day is back in the field and is looking for redemption after getting collected in a crash at Daytona. He will be piloting his No.77 Chevrolet SS for Spire Motorsports.

Recently signed Jake Bollmann, who will split time with Christian Eckes throughout the remainder of the 2025 ARCA West season, will take on his first race in the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS for Bill McAnally Racing.

The General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway will air live on FS1 at 8 pm EST on Saturday, March 7.
