Austin Hill and Jesse Love would likely be the drivers for the team, but Love has also been rumored to be going Cup full-time in 2027. A lot of what happens here depends on Kyle Busch’s status with RCR in 2027.

Unsure if Front Row Motorsports will field its part-time No. 36 NASCAR Cup Series entry in 2027, as a lot of it likely depends on what happens with Todd Gilliland and/or Noah Gragson. If either of those drivers doesn’t return to their 2026 ride, Layne Riggs or Chandler Smith would likely be in line to replace one of them. If there isn’t an opening, FRM likely uses this car part-time for their Truck guys to get some Cup Series reps.

The No. 40 JR Motorsports team has successfully made the field for the Daytona 500 in each of the last two seasons, but there has been no confirmation, as of yet, that the team will return for the 2027 edition of the race. If it does, Justin Allgaier, who locked the car into the Daytona 500 field in 2025 and 2026 is a good bet to return to the seat.

The No. 44 NY Racing Team has competed part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series since the inception of the Next Gen car in 2022. The organization has not indicated yet if it’ll compete in 2027, but if it does, J.J. Yeley would be the likely driver. Another driver who could potentially drive the car would be Derek Kraus. Kraus drove the No. 44 entry in two NASCAR Cup Series events in 2025.

As long as Bowman Gray Stadium remains on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, as the venue of The Clash or otherwise, expect Burt Myers to be in contention to drive the No. 50 Chevrolet for Team AmeriVet Racing there. No word on plans for this team in 2027 yet, though.

The Beard Motorsports team hasn’t revealed its 2027 NASCAR Cup Series plans yet. However, the team has partnered with Anthony Alfredo for an entry in the Daytona 500 over the last few seasons with varied success. Jesse Love, depending on what his full-time plans are in 2027, could compete for the team, or even Casey Mears, who signed on for some races in 2026.

It is unknown if 23XI Racing will continue fielding the part-time No. 67 NASCAR Cup Series entry in 2027, as a lot of that likely depends on whether or not Riley Herbst remains with the team on a full-time basis next season. If Herbst remains, 23XI Racing would likely use the No. 67 for Corey Heim to compete part-time again. If Herbst leaves, Heim would likely go full-time in the No. 35 entry, and if the team were to keep the No. 67 going as a part-time team, maybe a Toyota Truck Series development driver like Kaden Honeycutt could get a few starts?

B.J. McLeod’s No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports team is likely to compete in the 2027 Daytona 500, and other select races during the NASCAR Cup Series season. However, it’s unclear which driver will compete in those events. McLeod has typically competed in the superspeedway events for the team, but Daniel Dye and Katherine Legge have also added select events with the team over the last couple of seasons. They could potentially return for select starts again in 2027.

Justin Marks said in an interview in 2026 not to forget about Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 entry. While it’s unclear if the car will attempt a race in 2027, a lot of people have speculated that perhaps F1 superstar Max Verstappen or former F1 racer Daniel Ricciardo could compete in a one-off event, especially with a Red Bull tie-in. Or what about another Australian Supercars competitor like Brodie Kostecki?

RFK Racing attempted, and failed to make the field for the 2026 Daytona 500 with Corey LaJoie in the No. 99 Ford. It is highly unlikely, with everything in flux as far as the team’s full-time No. 60 entry goes, that the team rolls out the part-time No. 99 entry in 2027, but crazier things have happened.
