After three seasons, the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) has been indefinitely postponed, according to a statement released by the sanctioning body on Thursday.

“It is with deep disappointment that we announce the postponement of SRX’s fourth season,” the statement reads. “We entered the next phase of our racing series with great anticipation and excitement for what was ahead. Our expectations, however, have been tempered by market factors that have proven too much to overcome.”

Before the announcement, the series had already announced five of the six scheduled events for the Superstar Racing Experience in 2024, with events at Stafford Speedway, Thunder Road, Slinger Speedway, Berlin Raceway, and Cedar Lake Speedway all having dates confirmed, which are all now canceled.

“Time has run out to put forth the kind of events our fans, partners, drivers, and tracks deserve,” the statement continues. “We’re thankful to each for their commitment, their contributions, and their support as we brought a new idea to reality.”

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Rob Kauffman and Ray Evernham, one of the co-founders of SRX, would be reviving the legendary IROC brand in 2024, for at least one event. The impact of that acquisition on the indefinite pause of the Superstar Racing Experience is unknown.

“The racing industry continues to evolve and we are actively exploring strategic options for the series’ long-term potential. We made this announcement now to allow our partners the time and flexibility to best serve their interests.”

Additional updates surrounding the future of the Superstar Racing Experience, if there is a future, will be announced when further details become available.
