As the preseason Daytona test closes in for the ARCA Menards Series, Jon Garrett and his team are prepping for what could be one of his few races to run this year.
“As of now, I will probably run three to four races in my own equipment with the help of Fast Track Racing.”
Garrett and the team are prepping for the season opener, but he is struggling to find funding for the upcoming year.
Back on December 4th, he announced on social media that he was only planning on running ‘a handful of races next season.’
He and the No. 66 team competed full-time in last season’s ARCA Menards Series, where he came home a career-best fifth in driver points with 5 top 10s and an average finish of 15.1. He also won the S&S Volvo Long Haul Award for the race team that completes the most laps throughout the ARCA Menards Series season.
“Daytona, Talladega, Iowa, and maybe Bristol…All comes down to funding, and I broke the bank, stock market, credit card companies, etc to fulfill my dream last year, not to mention the help of many others,” the Athens, TX native added.
The 54-year-old said that as of now, he can “do it decently on about 15-20k a race” depending on the needs of the team.
“As you know – it is an expensive sport, so any help with funding would be appreciated.”
Garrett also talked about his time at the Awards Banquet in Nashville and getting his trophy for fifth in the points.
“Super nice event, and experience for me and my family.”
If you are interested in helping out with Garrett and his No. 66 machine, he said that you’re more than welcome to reach out via social media DM’s or by email at jon@fwscreen.com.
You can catch the season opener for the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona on February 17th at 1:30 PM live on Fox Sports 1.
