Eddie D’Hondt, a long-time spotter for Chase Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports, is moving to Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, the organization confirmed on Tuesday.
The veteran spotter will be paired with Josh Berry, as he contests his first full season of competition at NASCAR’s top level, piloting the No. 4 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Earlier this month, D’Hondt officially announced his impending departure from Hendrick Motorsports after a 12-season tenure as a spotter for the organization, a time he spent working with both Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott.
Throughout that 12-season stretch, D’Hondt managed to accumulate 26 victories, as well as the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship with Chase Elliott, NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver.
In addition to Tuesday’s announcement of D’Hondt’s addition, Stewart-Haas Racing also announced its complete spotter lineup for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, with two of its other teams also seeing changes.

As previously confirmed, Andy Houston will be staying with Stewart-Haas Racing for 2024, but will migrate from the No. 41 and Ryan Preece to the No. 10 Ford Mustang, which will have second-year driver Noah Gragson behind the wheel for the upcoming season.
Joe Campbell will continue as the spotter of the No. 14 Ford Mustang, driven by Chase Briscoe for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign. Tony Raines, who worked as spotter on a part-time basis in the Cup Series last season, will return
Tony Raines, who spotted for Front Row Motorsports on a part-time basis in 2023, will return to the full-time ranks of NASCAR Cup Series spotting in 2024, working with Ryan Preece and the No. 41 Ford Mustang.
Stewart-Haas Racing continues the off-season trend of major spotter changes across several organizations – both with the addition of Eddie D’Hondt and the removal of Tim Fedewa, who will spot for Ryan Blaney and Team Penske in 2024.
