Jeff Hensley to Serve as Crew Chief for Taylor Gray, TRICON Garage in 2024

TRICON Garage has added Jeff Hensley, a veteran crew chief in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, to its personnel list for the upcoming season, where he’ll serve as shot caller for Taylor Gray and the No. 17 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

Hensley is a 33-time winner as a crew chief in NASCAR’s National Series, picking up 11 NASCAR Xfinity Series victories and 22 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the series he’s directed his attention to since 2001.

Most recently, the 61-year-old crew chief worked with Grant Enfinger at GMS Racing, enjoying a successful campaign that resulted in a runner-up finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship.

The presence of Hensley on the No. 17 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro team will provide Taylor Gray, 18, with the opportunity to have an experienced voice in his ear, as he looks to qualify for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs for the first time.

In his first season as a Toyota Development Driver, Gray saw an increase in performance as his rookie campaign concluded with three top-five results and six finishes inside the top-10, including a career-best runner-up result at Kansas Speedway.

Hensley will make his first appearance as a TRICON Garage crew chief in the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway, a track in which the 18-year-old driver will be competing for the first time in his career.
