Daniel Suarez NASCAR Cup Series Las Vegas Motor Speedway Practice Spin
Daniel Suarez has sustained major damage to his No. 99 Chevrolet after another right-rear tire issue in practice, causing him to slam into the tire pack stationed at the inside wall.

Daniel Suarez is the second driver to run into significant issues during Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series practice session at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, after what appeared to be another issue with a right-rear tire.

Suarez, driving the No. 99 for Trackhouse Racing, had just crossed over the 30-lap mark in his practice run, when a flat tire caused his Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge-sponsored entry to spin at the exit of the second corner.

Even though Suarez was able to avoid slapping the outside wall, the Monterrey, Mexico-native wasn’t so lucky when it came to the inside wall, crashing into a tire pack stationed on the back straightaway just after an opening in the wall.

After exiting the infield care center, Suarez says that he and Travis Mack had discussions, and ultimately made adjustments to the No. 99 Chevrolet based on what they observed in the first group – with Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott running into tire issues.

Suarez will be the second driver going to a backup car for Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, joining Chase Elliott. As a result, both the No. 9 and No. 99 Chevrolet entries won’t post times in qualifying.
