Ryan Reed will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Saturday’s event at Las Vegas Motor speedway, driving the No. 66 Chevrolet Camaro for Alpha Prime Racing – in collaboration with MBM Motorsports.

Ryan Reed, a two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series winner at Daytona International Speedway, is set to return to the series in Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, joining forces with Alpha Prime Racing.

The 30-year-old driver will get behind the wheel of the No. 66 Tandem Diabetes Care Chevrolet Camaro for Alpha Prime Racing – in a partnership with MBM Motorsports, which will see the organization utilize the team’s typical number.

“It is so cool to be able to make my return to Xfinity racing,” Reed said in a team release. “The Xfinity Series was my home for many years, so it just feels right to be back”

A native of Bakersfield, California, Reed last competed in NASCAR’s top-three series in 2021, when he drove the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Darlington Raceway in the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing.

Reed’s most recent start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series came at the conclusion of his full-time tenure with Roush Fenway Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, marking the end of a five-year relationship between driver and team.

“Ryan has been so great to work with, and it’s fun to see a pro like him have another chance in our series, and bring new sponsors like Tandem along with him,” said Alpha Prime Racing General Manager, Tommy Joe Martins.

Tandem Diabetes Care is an American medical device manufacturer based in San Diego, California. The company develops medical technologies for the treatment of diabetes specifically insulin infusion therapy.

“I can’t thank Tande Diabetes enough for coming on board and helping make this happen,” added Reed. “Also, Scott and Mandy Critchley and all the folks from Critchley Family Farms.”

Saturday’s Xfinity Series event at Las Vegas will mark the second time that Alpha Prime Racing and MBM Motorsports have combined in such a manner, after placing Caesar Bacarella in the No. 66 in the Spring event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“If it wasn’t for Carl [Long] helping us with this effort, it wouldn’t be possible,” added Tommy Joe Martins. “He’s a racer through and through and I have a ton of respect for him and his race team.”
