Denny Hamlin has inked a multi-year contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing, which will see him continue as the driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry TRD in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2024 and beyond.

A native of Chesterfield, Virginia, Hamlin has been in the headlines for the last several weeks, as a result of his unsettled contract status for next season, but with Monday’s announcement, is set to retain his seat at one of NASCAR’s most successful organizations.

“Joe Gibbs Racing has been my home for almost 20 years now,” said Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry TRD. ”My relationship with Joe [Gibbs], my team, and everyone at JGR means a lot to me. We have accomplished so much together over the years. I’m excited to finally announce this so we can put all our focus on chasing the championship.”

Since his NASCAR Cup Series debut in October 2005, Hamlin has remained a critical asset to Joe Gibbs Racing, in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, scoring 68 NASCAR National Series victories for the team.

Next year, the long-standing relationship between Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing will hit a landmark, with the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign marking the 20th season that the two entities have been partnered.

“It is amazing to think it has been almost 20 years since J.D. (Gibbs) first saw him race and we signed him to that first contract,” said Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. “He has been a big part of Joe Gibbs Racing ever since then and we look forward to that continuing for years to come.”

This season, Hamlin is one of the 16 drivers still eligible to capture the championship in the NASCAR Cup Series, and looks to bring his season-long strength to the organization, as the second-place finisher in regular-season point standings.

Most recently, in Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Hamlin came home in 25th place, after dominating the event by leading a race-high 177 of 367 laps but suffering a pair of issues in the final stage.

With the multi-season commitment from Hamlin, Joe Gibbs Racing has now solidified its NASCAR Cup Series lineup for 2024, with Christopher Bell, Martin Truex, Jr., and rookie Ty Gibbs all returning to the organization.
