Kevin Lacroix went for a wild ride on the opening lap of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières, launching over the top of Andrew Ranger in turn two.

After a bizarre opening-lap accident at the Grand Prix of Trois-Riviéres, Kevin Lacroix can probably give you an accurate description of Quebec’s skyline, after his No. 74 Dodge was pointed at the sky for a long period of time.

Lacroix, who started the race from fifth, was looking to make a move to the left of Andrew Ranger, when the No. 27 closed the door to make the corner, sending the NAPA Auto Parts entry skyward over the fender of the GM Paille Chevrolet.

Both Lacroix and Ranger would climb from their respective entries without any major assistance, after both the No. 74 and No. 27 ended up in the tire barriers, after the major first-lap crash.

The impact of a first-lap crash is huge for both Lacroix and Ranger, who will now find themselves finishing in the bottom two positions in the largest NASCAR Pinty’s Series field in quite some time, losing quite a few points.
