Sam Mayer did win Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Road America. However, he may or may not have damaged his racecar after the fact, too, hitting the lip in the gravel trap and tearing off the front end.

So, what you’re telling me is that Sam Mayer made it through the entirety of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Road America without a single scratch on the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro, but messed up the front end on the cooldown lap?

Yeah, it’s possible the 20-year-old Wisconsin native may have gotten a little excited after the race, attempting to turn around near the gravel pit in turn five, and damaging the front end of his car on a lip exiting sand.

But, the good news is that Mayer has still won the Road America 180 and has still captured his first Xfinity Series win at his home track. However, the crew members at JR Motorsports may not be happy about having to fix all of the damage on the car.

Plus, when entering victory lane, Mayer caused some more damage there, too, ripping up some of the checkered tiling on the ground upon entering the winner’s circle.
