Sheldon Creed found trouble at the end of the final round of NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying for The Loop 121 at the Chicago Street Course.

Oh. My. Goodness. Sheldon Creed was sitting pretty, as he had the second-fastest qualifying lap of the final round of NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying for the first-ever Street Course event in Series history — The Loop 121 at Chicago.

Second wasn’t good enough, and Creed pushed his No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro around the course in an effort to knock Cole Custer from the pole position.

Heading out of Turn 7 and into Turn 8 of the 12-turn 2.200-mile street course through downtown Chicago, Creed pushed it a little too much. His No. 2 Chevrolet lost traction, and he collided the back of his car into the outside retaining wall. The damage was massive.

Here is a video of the qualifying crash for Creed:

While Creed crashed, he will officially be credited with the second starting spot in the first-ever NASCAR Xfinity Series street race, but due to the massive damage, which will send him to a backup car, Creed will need to drop to the rear of the 38-car field before the green flag on Saturday.
