Austin Hill, who is running a part-time NASCAR Cup Series season in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, will add another race to his schedule per an update from Beard Motorsports shared on social media on Thursday.

The No. 62 team announced that Hill will now pilot the car in the July 9th Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

This will mark the third NASCAR Cup Series race attempt of the season for Hill, who sits second in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings after 14 races this season.

The Beard Motorsports team typically contests all of the superspeedway-style races and was set to run both races at Daytona and both races at Talladega this year in addition to Michigan International Speedway in August and Charlotte’s ROVAL in October.

This added race will bring Hill and Beard Motorsports to a total of seven attempted races scheduled in 2023.

Hill missed the field for the season-opening Daytona 500 after a crash during the Duel Qualifying races doomed his hopes of making the field. Hill started 31st and finished 24th at Talladega Superspeedway in the GEICO 500 earlier this season.

In all, Hill has made two NASCAR Cup Series starts in his career, with a best finish of 18th coming in his debut at Michigan International Speedway a season ago.

The native of Winston, Georgia is a five-time race winner in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition, and he amassed eight wins in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series between 2019 and 2021.
