Sheldon Creed maintained control of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Portland International Raceway throughout the race’s opening two stages, leading 47 of the first 49 laps.
However, while battling for victory at the conclusion of the race’s second stage, Creed was battling for the stage victory with John Hunter Nemechek, Justin Allgaier, Cole Custer, and Parker Kligerman in a five-car pack.
Nemechek, who was passed in the final corner of the opening stage, attempted to make a last-lap dive on Sheldon Creed but instead spun the driver of the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet Camaro.
The radio communication after the accident happened – which knocked Creed down to sixth – was not pretty, with the Richard Childress Racing driver vowing to get back to Nemechek and return the favor.
And today we’ve learned that Sheldon Creed is a man of his word… In the final corner at Portland, Creed got to the rear-bumper of the No. 20 Toyota Supra, and spun him around, exacting revenge for the earlier misfotune.

After the second shot, Nemechek said the two drivers will likely talk after the race about what has transpired on track this afternoon. However, we’ll have to see if those discussions are just words, or if there is contact involved.
