It’s been a theme throughout Memorial Day Weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but Mother Nature continues to be unkind to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with the persistence of moisture in the area postponing the Alsco Uniforms 300 for the second time.

The good news is we got the race started, with the 38-car field completing the race’s first stage, and clicking off 48 laps around the home base for several of the series’ prominent organizations.

However, the bad news is that a red flag for increasing moisture on track, coupled with a larger dose of precipitation than we had seen all morning, has forced NASCAR to pivot its schedule once again.

As a result, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will complete the remaining 152 laps of the Alsco Uniforms 300 following Monday’s already-postponed Coca-Cola 600, which is set to air at 3:00 PM ET on FOX, weather permitting.

The fluid-like nature of the Coca-Cola 600, heightened even more by unstable weather conditions, means that the sanctioning body doesn’t have a pin-pointed time in which the event will return, however, the broadcast will be moved to FS2.

With 48 laps complete, Ty Gibbs is scored as the race leader, after taking the top spot from teammate John Hunter Nemechek in the closing laps of the opening stage. Nemechek impacted the outside wall but retained second place.

Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric, and Sheldon Creed round out the current top-five runners. Chandler Smith, Austin Hill, Josh Berry, Cole Custer, and Riley Herbst all maintain positions inside the top-10.

At the time of the stoppage, no on-track incidents had occurred in the race, leaving 37 of the 38 vehicles on the lead-lap and without any major damage. Stefan Parsons, the only car scored a lap behind the leader, will get the free pass when the race restarts.
