Parker Kligerman is out of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Dover Motor Speedway, after a crash in the first half of the event with Corey Heim.

After starting from the pole position, Parker Kligerman is the first driver out of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Dover Motor Speedway, as a result of contact from series debutant Corey Heim.

The crash, which happened midway through the race’s second stage, was a result of a side-by-side battle between Kligerman and Heim while battling inside the top-20. Heim, driving for Sam Hunt Racing, then got tight on corner exit, and made contact with the No. 48.

The damage to Kligerman’s No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro was extensive, requiring the Big Machine Racing team to retire from the event before reaching the halfway point, something that will hurt him in the battle to make the Playoffs.

Heim was able to continue without any major damage but did get a signal from Kligerman of his admiration for the full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver.

It’s the second time in the last three races that someone has assigned another driver the role of No. 1 in a race, an honor Sam Mayer bestowed to Ryan Truex at Martinsville.
