Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney triggered a multi-car accident on the final lap of Sunday’s GEICO 500 while racing for the victory at Talladega Superspeedway. Kyle Busch was awarded the win, after sneaking through on the inside lane.

As is typical to superspeedway racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, Sunday’s GEICO 500 ended under the caution flag, after a massive wreck broke out on the final lap, as a result of a heated battle for the victory.

Holding the top-two positions entering the first corner, Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney were racing incredibly hard for the victory, when a pair of huge blocks by the 23XI Racing driver, sent him spinning down the track, collecting several others.

Ryan Blaney, driving the No. 12 for Team Penske, was able to get away from the accident scene and record a second-place finish but lost out to Kyle Busch, who was able to sneak by on the inside line.

Several other cars were involved in the last-lap crash that altered the outcome of the race, including Austin Cindric, AJ Allmendinger, Martin Truex, Jr., Brad Keselowski, Todd Gilliland, William Byron, and Riley Herbst, amongst potential others.

Kyle Busch, who was able to sneak through on the inside, was awarded the victory, while Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe, Chris Buescher, and Brad Keselowski were each awarded with finishes inside the top-five, though those results are pending NASCAR verification.
