Sam Mayer, Josh Berry, and Justin Allgaier are all out of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega, after a multi-car crash late in the event.

After 102 laps, the fleet of JR Motorsports entries is down to just one, after a major accident in the closing stages of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.

Sam Mayer, Josh Berry, and Justin Allgaier were all heavily damaged in the accident which happened inside the final 15 laps of the event, along with Derek Kraus, Chandler Smith, and Gray Gaulding.

The accident happened as a result of a simple check-up from Mayer, as he was rapidly approaching the rear-end of Ryan Truex in the No. 19 Toyota Supra, who he had issues with last weekend at Martinsville.

Mayer, with sponsorship from First Bank of America, then got turned by his JR Motorsports teammate, spinning him down the track, and into several other cars, while destroying the front end of the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro.

Justin Allgaier, Sam Mayer, and Josh Berry all retired from the event, due to intense damage, while the Kaulig Racing teammates and Gray Gaulding were all able to continue in the event.
