Carson Hocevar Taylor Gray Martinsville incident 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Carson Hocevar was assessed a two-lap penalty late in Friday night’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Martinsville after hooking Taylor Gray following contact in a three-wide battle.

Carson Hocevar is gaining a reputation on the track in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and while the young racer is extremely talented, the reputation he is gaining isn’t a positive one.

On lap 116 of Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Long John Silver’s 200 at Martinsville Speedway, Hocevar appeared to lose his cool after contact in a three-wide battle with Taylor Gray. Following the contact, Hocevar cut dead-left into the side of Gray’s truck in an effort to wipe Gray out.

Instead, Hocevar spun himself out. NASCAR took exception to the move and held Hocevar on pit road for two laps for the dirty move. Here is a video of the incident:

Hocevar’s antics led to many people questioning the move including Denny Hamlin who posed the question, “What’s wrong with that kid?”

Many others within the industry and fans of the sports alike took exception to the on-track incident as well.
