Chad Finchum will look to make his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the 2023 season as he will run for MBM Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway next weekend. Finchum will pilot the No. 66 Ford Mustang for the team as he hopes to crack into the 38-car field for the Call 811 Before You Dig 250.

The team made the announcement of Finchum being added to its driver lineup for Martinsville in a Tweet on Friday evening.

The Knoxville, Tennessee native made the field for two races with MBM Motorsports a season ago and had a best finish of 32nd, which came at Dover Motor Speedway in April.

Finchum, 28, has made a total of 107 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series since the 2017 season and the racer boasts a career-best finish of 11th, which he achieved at Talladega Superspeedway during the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Additionally, Finchum has made six-career starts in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he has a best finish of 33rd, which he has recorded twice. All of Finchum’s starts in the NASCAR National Series ranks have come in MBM Motorsports equipment, while a few of his Xfinity starts were under the Hattori Racing Enterprises banner, as MBM previously shared the No. 61 with Hattori in a partnership.

It has been a rough season for the MBM Motorsports team, which has made the field in only three NASCAR Xfinity Series events through the opening seven races of the 2023 season.

Timmy Hill made the team’s season debut at Auto Club Speedway and came home with a 32nd-place finish, while Caesar Bacarella made the field at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but suffered a crash on lap 1 and finished last.

Mason Maggio made his Xfinity Series debut for the team last weekend at Richmond and scored the team’s best finish of the season with a 31st-place effort.

Finchum will look to make the fourth start of the year for MBM Motorsports, and if he makes the field, he’ll look to score the first top-30 finish for the team this season.
