Kevin Harvick had taken the lead on lap 188 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and it looked like the No. 4 car had possibly turned into a contender for the win. Then, a lap later, Ross Chastain, who had a massive closing rate from behind Harvick, tapped into the rear of Harvick.
The tap from Chastain sent Harvick spinning, and from there all hell broke loose through the field.

In all, 12 cars were swept up in this crash. Those involved were Harvick, Chastain, Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch, Josh Berry, Chris Buescher, Harrison Burton, Bubba Wallace, William Byron, Erik Jones, Ty Gibbs and BJ McLeod.

This was the first multi-car on-track incident of the day, and it was only the second caution for cause in the race. But the action on track had picked up in Stage 3, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see more of this happen as the race rolls on.
