There was a time in his career that Ross Chastain had no idea what was next. He won’t have those questions for a while, now, as Trackhouse Racing announced that the organization has reached a long-term multiyear contract extension.

According to Trackhouse team owner Justin Marks, the deal will keep Chastain in the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro for years to come. While specific contract details were not shared, Ty Norris joked that the deal would go until Chastain had gray hair in his beard.

For Marks, locking up his star drivers was a critical component in the continual building process for his race team.

“What we’re trying to do in this sport is to establish ourselves as a consistent year-in and year-out competitor and ultimately building an organization that can win championships, that can be a great destination for our partners and for the people that work here,” Marks said. “And that starts with making sure that the two guys holding the steering wheel feel like they have a home here and feel like they have a future here. And I think everything trickles back from there.”

The 30-year-old racer and his team made the announcement at the Daytona International Speedway Media Center in front of his family and friends from Alva, Florida.

“Thank y’all for allowing us to come into this room and do this in person. It’s more than a post online,” Chastain stated emotionally. “And to make the ask of my grandparents, I’m so blessed and fortunate to have all four of them here today. Aunts, uncles, cousins, my mom, dad, brother, and family friends that are more than friends. They’re family.”

Chastain scored his first two-career NASCAR Cup Series wins over the course of the 36-race 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season. Chastain finished the season second in the championship standings to Joey Logano, who won the season-ending championship race at Phoenix Raceway.

The hard-nosed racer racked up 15 top-five finishes and 21 top-10s this past season.

Trackhouse Racing has now secured both of its drivers to multiyear contract extensions, as Daniel Suarez was also re-signed to a multiyear extension, which was announced on Wednesday.
